Jumpers Scoring Explained

Show Jumping is scored by faults or penalties accrued by horse and rider while they negotiate the course.
Scoring is determined as follows:

Knockdown of an Obstacle…………………………4 Faults

First Refusal………………………………………………..4 Faults

Second Refusal………………………………………Elimination

Any foot touching the water or marker
of a water jump/liverpool……………………………4 Faults

Failure to cross starting line before the
timer starts within 45 Seconds…………………..No Score

Exceeding the Time Allowed……………..1 Fault/Second

Off Course………………………………………………Elimination

Fall of Horse or Rider………………………………Elimination
